Crawling is the process by which search engines (like Google, Bing, etc.) discover and index content from websites on the internet. During crawling, search engine bots (also called “spiders” or “crawlers”) visit websites, follow links, and scan the pages to gather information about them. This information is then used to rank the pages in search engine results pages (SERPs).
